My sophomore year was marked by a captivating exploration of the traditional printmaking process, during which I immersed myself in the intricate methodologies of Relief, Intaglio, and Pronto Plates. This hands-on class provided a rich learning experience, allowing me to experiment with various techniques and discover the unique characteristics of each printmaking segment. Working with Relief involved carving into a surface, Intaglio required incising into a plate, and Pronto Plates introduced a versatile lithographic method. This journey not only honed my skills in traditional media but also exposed me to the fascinating world of textures that emerge organically through each step of the printmaking process. The tactile engagement with materials and the nuanced interplay of pressure and ink became invaluable aspects of my artistic journey.
